Educational Administrator of the Year Award
SCAEOP affiliates may nominate an educational administrator based on their personal and professional accomplishments, contributions to education, and support of educational office professionals. The Educational Administrator of the Year is presented to the membership at the annual conference.
Administrator of the Year
Ms. Inger Ferguson
Principal Southeast Middle School
Richland One School District

Mrs. Inger M. Ferguson lives by her favorite scripture and uses it as her daily motto: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” -Isaiah 40:31
Mrs. Inger Ferguson is a native of Evergreen, Alabama. She is happily married to Command Sergeant Major (R) Harry S. Ferguson and is the mother of three; HaKeem, Marcia & LaMont Ferguson. Mrs. Ferguson holds her family true and dear to her heart. As a military spouse she served as a Family Support Group Leader and a trainer for the Army Family Team Building Association. Mrs. Ferguson is a member of Restoration Life Ministries Church of God In Christ under the tutelage of her pastor Elder Theodore Pasley in which she can be found actively involved in several ministries/auxiliaries.
Mrs. Ferguson considers herself a servant leader. This can be seen in her compassion and commitment to the students, parents and faculty/staff members that she serves. She is always willing to give words of encouragement and lending a listening ear to all that she encounters. She has been employed with Richland School District One since 1998 and currently serves as the Principal of Southeast Middle School.
Principal Ferguson’s commitment to serve has led to many accomplishments and successes. A nationally board certified educator, Mrs. Ferguson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Stillman College (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) in the field of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She also holds a Masters of Education Degree in Integrated Studies; as well as an Educational Specialist Degree in the field of Educational Administration from Cambridge College. In 2016, she was named Educator of the Year ( South Carolina Association of School Resource Officers), nominated for Principal of the Year (2019) by the SC Association of School Administrators, and most recently, was named the 2022 Administrator of the Year for the Richland County Association of Educational Office Professionals (RCAEOP). She is an active member of several civic and professional organizations to include: Gamma Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, COLA City Chapter President of Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, South Carolina Association of Middle Level Educators, South Carolina Association for Health, Physical Education Recreation and Dance, South Carolina Association for Black School Educators, South Carolina Education Association, and the South Carolina Association for School Administrators.
