2024 Recipient

Jonathan Grant

First and foremost, Jonathan would like to say thank you so much to the association for taking the time to view his application and for deciding to select him as the recipient of the Student Scholarship for this year.

Jonathan comes from a single parent household, raised by his mother, Lisa Moore, who has been with him every step of the way. Jonathan definitely would not be able to even begin telling his story without giving his mother credit. Jonathan attends Oakbrook Preparatory School in Spartanburg, SC. He is a multisport athlete who loves playing basketball and football, and has been playing for his school’s Varsity team since he was a freshman.

When looking back on his high school football career, as a quarterback, even though it is not his main position, Jonathan currently holds the record for the most touchdowns in a single game at his school and has been nominated twice for the Gatlinburg All-American Bowl. In regards to his high school career in basketball, not too much to speak on, but it is his favorite of the two sports.

As for his life outside of sports, Jonathan is the Student Government Secretary at his school, and has a part time job at Wayback Burgers in Duncan, SC, and volunteers for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization. Despite everything that he has going on in his life, Jonathan has still managed to maintain a high GPA, to which he can say he is proud of accomplishing, and plans on doing the same during his collegiate career. Jonathan plans to attend the College of Charleston in the fall of 2024, pursuing a degree in Biology and hopes, after that, completing graduate school for Dentistry. Jonathan wishes to thank the South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals for selecting him as the winner of this scholarship award, and helping him in his pursuit of higher education.
